Samsung have followed in the footsteps of HTC with their new Omnia 7 smartphone. HTC took the popular and wonderful wish HD, and created the HD7, basically the same handset but is running on Windows 7. The Omnia 7 is the effort of the brands to capture the growing market of mobile phones with the new Microsoft OS, retaining some of the features that the Android versions made so popular.
Where this new handsets are different from the Android platform is that Microsoft some minimum specifications that the handsets must have to perform on the system are logged. What they're hoping that this will achieve is that the market is not flooded with poor quality, low spec models, as was the case with Android. These requirements include a powerful 1 Ghz processor to keep the unit quickly and a high quality 5 mega pixel camera. In an attempt to stand out from the uniform lineup of phones, Samsung have really vamped on the screen on the Omnia-7, and it looks breathtaking. At 4 "the screen is big enough to watch media files comfortably, while maintaining the compactness needed to the handset attractive for the consumer. Use Super AMOLED technology, Samsung managed to screen both visually impressive and incredibly slim line.
